Scott Whitfield

With over 40 years of experience, Scott Whitfield is a seasoned performer that knows how to work with a crowd. His wit, timing, originality, and easygoing west Texas personality are trademarks of his shows. Whitfield has headlined or been a featured performer at numerous banjo festivals across the U.S. In addition, he is a 2021 inductee into the American Banjo Museum Hall of Fame.

Scott’s musical style stems from his background in jazz, blues, country, and rock music. His music transcends time. His guitar and vocal work bring to life the rock and country of the ’70s. His hard-swinging rhythm guitar and banjo style bring the jazz standards of the swing era to the listener in a new and refreshing way. His use of new grooves in old tunes open up new horizons of the listening experience.

Scott’s originals earned him a nomination for the “Trailblazer Award” from Airplay International in Nashville, TN. In 1995 he was named a “Texas Tornado” and performed at his induction ceremony at the Hard Rock Cafe in Dallas, TX joining the company of Stevie Ray Vaughn, Willie Nelson, and Waylon Jennings.

Scott Whitfield entertains for special events including private parties, wedding receptions, grand openings, festivals, fairs, corporate events, restaurants, and clubs.  Scott can either function as a strolling acoustic entertainer, or do a stage show with complete band tracks and a sound system.
