Scott & the Jazz Cats slated for area festivals

Scott & The Jazz Cats in Ft. Worth, TX

Scott & the Jazz Cats will entertain from 12:30pm to 3:30pm at the Ft. Worth Main Street Arts Festival and two weeks later at the Denton Arts & Jazz Festival on Saturday April 24, 2010 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM.

In Denton, the trio will perform a set on the River Stage and play two more shows on the Roving Stages. In Ft. Worth, the trio will stroll up and down Main Street entertaining the crowds.

Scott & the Jazz Cats play original traditional jazz music. Their audiences enjoy Scott and his great swinging jazz band.

The ScottSound Music Spring Recital will be held Sunday March 7, 2010 at Encore Pianos in Willow Bend Mall. The performance time will be announced later this month.

Focus on: Rhythm Train. Come be part of counting, playing, recognizing and internalizing complex rhythm patterns and compound time signatures.

24 hours notice is required for obtaining a make-up lesson. Students will be expected to pay for lessons with no notice or less than 24 hours notice to the studio.

Stallion Band to present Spring Concert March 4, 2010

The Levine Academy Stallion Bands will present their Spring Concert at the school Thursday evening March 4, 2010 at 7:00 PM. The concert will feature the Concert Band, the Lab Band and the Honor Band as well as duets by featured band students.

The Concert Band consists of 34 students from the 5th through 8th graders. They will play "Liturgical Fanfare", Themes from "Harry Potter", and "Over the Rainbow".

The Lab Band consists of 9 selected 7th and 8th graders. The Lab Band will perform, "Georgia on My Mind", Theme from "Mission Impossible", "I Heard it Through the Grapevine", and "Margaritaville".

The Honor Band, consists of 14 7th and 8th graders. This year they will be assisted by 3 advanced 5th graders. The Honor Band will be performing "Sousa the March King", Music from "The Lion King", and Selections from "The Empire Strikes Back".

The concert will open with a special performance of "The Thunderer", a John Phillip Sousa march, by the Concert Band joined by Alumni band members. It's always a joy to see so many of our past students enjoying their music and willing to share their talent with us.

The concert is free and open to the public. We would like to encourage all of the Levine Academy to attend and listen to our award winning bands.
