Do you find yourself always tapping your feet or banging on the top of a desk, playing along to the song in your head? Then ScottSound Music can help you focus these energies elsewhere… like on a real drum kit! All you need is the will to learn and a pair of drum sticks, and you are well on your way!
The drummer is important to any group. The primary function of the drummer is to keep a steady beat. Our percussion students learn how to read drum music and play either drum set or percussion.
Drum set students will learn fundamental beat patterns and develop coordination using their hands and feet. Besides basic beat patterns, they will eventually advance to playing fills, more complex patterns and solos.
Percussion students will learn sticking patterns, and basic rudiments on snare. They will also incorporate part reading into the learning process working on cymbal, bass drum, tom and auxiliary percussion parts.
Drums take a lot of coordination and the development of learning to keep a steady beat. A good drummer is a welcome addition to any group, no matter what the style of music.
